Getting Started

How much does Journeyfolio cost?

Journeyfolio is a one-time purchase on the App Store. No subscriptions, no ads, no in-app purchases. Buy it once and it’s yours.

Do I need to create an account?

No. There’s no sign-up, no login, and no account to manage. Open the app and start planning immediately.

Where is my trip data stored?

Everything is stored locally on your device. Nothing is uploaded to external servers. There is no cloud sync or backup.

What happens if I delete the app?

Uninstalling Journeyfolio permanently removes all stored trip data. Since there is no cloud backup, this cannot be undone.

Can I plan a trip with multiple cities?

Yes. Add multiple destination cities to a single trip. Each city gets its own itinerary section, weather forecast, date range, and public holidays.

What types of activities can I add?

Seven categories cover everything:

Can activities span multiple days?

Yes. Toggle “Multi-day” when adding an activity (like a hotel stay or car rental) to set start and end dates. The activity appears on each day it spans.

How do I find hotels and restaurants near my destination?

Use the built-in location search when adding an activity. Type a name or keyword, tap a result to auto-fill details, and see a map preview.

How do weather forecasts work?

Add a destination city and Journeyfolio automatically fetches current conditions and a 5-day forecast using Apple Weather. Toggle between °C and °F on the weather card.

How does flight tracking work?

Enter your flight number and departure date, then tap “Verify Flight.” Journeyfolio auto-fills the route, airline, and times (in each airport’s local timezone). For flights within 24 hours of departure, live status badges appear automatically.

Schedule verification covers flights up to 12 months in the future and 3 months in the past.

How do public holidays work?

Journeyfolio automatically displays public holidays for your destination’s country. Holiday dates are highlighted in the date strip with a soft yellow background.

Do I need an internet connection?

Your trip data is always accessible offline. An internet connection is only needed for live weather forecasts, flight verification and status updates, public holiday information, and location search.

How do I pin or delete a trip?

Swipe right on a trip to pin it to the top of your list. Swipe left on a trip or activity to delete it. A confirmation prompt appears before deletion.

Troubleshooting

Weather forecasts aren’t loading

Check that your device has an internet connection and verify the destination city name is correct. If it still doesn’t load, try again in a few minutes as the weather service may be temporarily unavailable.

Flight verification says “No flight found”

Double-check the flight number format (e.g., “JL001” or “AA100”) and confirm the departure date is correct. Verification covers 3 months past to 12 months future. Some regional or charter flights may not be in the database.

Flight status isn’t showing

Live status badges only appear for flights within approximately 24 hours of departure. Verified schedule information is still displayed for flights further out.

Location search isn’t returning results

Ensure you have an internet connection and try a more specific term (e.g., “Hilton Tokyo” instead of “hotel”).

Public holidays aren’t showing

Holidays require a valid country for your destination. Try a more specific city name (e.g., “Paris, France”).

My trip data seems to be missing

Trip data is preserved across app updates. Try restarting the app or your device. Note that uninstalling the app permanently deletes all data. If data is still missing after a restart, please contact us.

The app is crashing or behaving unexpectedly

Make sure you’re running the latest version from the App Store, then restart the app and your device. If the issue persists, email us with a description of what happened.

Journeyfolio requires iOS 18.0 or later and runs on iPhone.
